Equipment

  • Sauce Pan
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Measuring Cups
  • Vegetable Grater/Mortar and Pestle

Ingredients
  

  • 1" Fresh Ginger Piece see notes
  • 1 Cup Water
  • ¾ Cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Loose Tea Leaves or 2 tea bags
  • 2 tsp Raw Cane Sugar see notes
  • ¼ tsp Fresh Black Pepper Powder

Instructions
 

  • Take a clean and dirt free ginger piece.
  • Peel it lightly using a knife.
  • Grate it or crush it coarsely using a mortar and pestle.
  • In a saucepan add 1 Cup water, keep it over medium flame.
  • Add grated or crushed ginger.
  • Let the water boil for a minute.
  • Now lower the flame and add tea leaves or tea bags and let it brew for another 1 min.
  • Now add milk and sugar, increase the flame and let the tea come to boil, then lower the flame.
  • Cook it for another 1 min and then strain using a tea strainer.
  • Serve hot with cookies or snacks of your choice.

Notes

Use fresh ginger. Avoid adding dry ginger powder as renders a different taste to tea.
Add sweetener as per your taste. You can add any raw sugar like raw cane sugar, jaggery or coconut palm sugar.
Increase or decrease amount of milk as per your liking.
