Notes

For the recipe I have Raw Bananas which are available in North India. You can replace it with Plantains or Kerala Bananas/Nendra Bananas here in the recipe.
To make crispy and crunchy chips, choose bright green raw and firm bananas
I have used Rice Bran oil in the recipe, you add any good plant oil. Use Coconut oil if you want the authentic taste of Kerala Banana Chips.
Tips to get Perfect Crispy Raw Banana Chips in Air Fryer
  • After soaking Raw Bananas in turmeric water, pat dry very nicely.
  • Immediately cut into slices and the add seasoning and oil.
  • Arrange the Chips in a single layer in air fryer basket.
  • Preheat the air fryer before arranging the chips.
  • Shake the chips once every 5-6 mins.
  • Let the chips cool completely and then store in an air-tight container.
  • Cooking time depends on the thickness of slices. Do not cut very thick slices as it will take more time to air fry. Also avoid cutting uneven slices as as some chips will be cooked more and some may get overcooked.
  • If stored chips get soggy or lose the crispness, then you can air fryer for 2-3 mins. to get the crunch back.
