- 1.5 Cup Basmati Rice
- 1 tsp Jeera Rice
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 Cinnamon Stick(small)
- 4-5 Cloves
- 4-5 Pepeprcorns
- 1 Black Cardamom
- 1-2 tbsp Desi Ghee/Oil
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Wash rice 2-3 times in running water. Soak rice in water for 15-20 minutes.
Switch on the SAUTE Mode of Instant Pot. Add ghee/oil to inner pot
.When the display shows hot, add cumin seeds and other whole spices, and saute for 1 minute. Next add rice and water. The rice to water ratio should be 1: 1¼ .
Cancel the saute mode and set the pressure cook mode on. Set the timer for 5 minutes on high.
When the timer goes off wait for a minute the do manual QPR(quick Pressure release). Fluff lightly with fork or spoon.
Serve hot, garnish with finely chopped fresh cilantro or coriander leaves(optional).
