Plugin Instant Pot. Set the SAUTE MODE on for 10 mins.
When the display shows HOT, add oil.
Next add all the whole spices along with cumin seeds.
When seeds crackle, add roughly chopped onions saute for 2-3 mins. then add ginger garlic paste.
Cook till the raw smell of garlic goes away and onions turn light pink.
Then add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes start turning mushy and soft. You can cover Instant Pot with a lid.
Add boiled red kidney beans, garam masala, red chilli powder(if using)
Make coarse paste of ginger garlic and green chillies. Skip green chillies if using red chilli powder or the other way. Or use both as per your spice tolerance.
Drain water from soaked rice and add to pulao masala. Add salt and give a light stir.
Add about 1½-2 cups of water, check the level of water, it should be just above the rice.
Cancel the SAUTE MODE and cover and seal the lid.
Set the PRESSURE COOK MODE on. Set the COOK TIME to 6 mins.
Once 6 mins are over, wait fro 2-3 min, and do a Quick Pressure Release. Open the lid and check Pulao.
Add chopped cilantro/coriander leaves.
Serve Hot with Chutney and raita of your choice.
