Winter Special Besan Aur Badam Dooh
Winter Special Milk, with chickpea flour, almonds and spices like turmeric, black pepper, ginger powder. Learn how to make this magical drink that nourishes and protects the body during cold and harsh winters.
Servings: 2 Cups
- 2 Cups Milk
- 2 tbsp Besan/Chickpea Flour
- 2-3 tbsp Finely ground Almonds
- 1 tsp Desi Ghee
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Ginger Powder
- A pinch Black Pepper
- 2-3 tsp Sugar or as required
Dry roast besan/chickpea flour till it starts to give nutty aroma, add and mix desi ghee and roast further till light brown in color.
Add milk and mix nicely, make sure no lumps are formed.
Next add turmeric powder, ginger powder, black pepper powder, powdered almonds and sugar . Mix nicely.
Boil for 3-4 mins, keep stirring in between to avoid burnt milk at the bottom.
You can add saffron strands in place of turmeric powder.
We prefer moderately sweet milk, add sugar as required.
For vegans, you can use almond milk or any non-dairy milk, though I have never used it in this preparation.
