- 2 tbsp Sama Rice/ Barnyard Millet
- 500 ml Whole Cream Milk
- ½ Cup Finely Grated Carrots
- 1-2 tbsp Finely Chopped Almonds
- 1 tbsp Raisins
- ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder/Elaichi Powder
- Sugar as required
Wash and soak Sama Rice in water for at least 15 minutes.
2 tbsp Sama Rice/ Barnyard Millet
Chop almonds and other nuts(if adding).
1-2 tbsp Finely Chopped Almonds, 1 tbsp Raisins
Grate carrots(finely).
½ Cup Finely Grated Carrots
In a heavy bottomed pan, keep milk to boil medium flame. Add cardamom (crush it and then add).
500 ml Whole Cream Milk, ¼ tsp Cardamom Powder/Elaichi Powder
When the first boil comes, lower the flame, drain water from soaked sama rice, add to milk, along with grated carrots , nuts and raisins and mix.
Cook till rice starts to thicken.
Then add sugar, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Sugar as required
Serve hot or chilled.
You can skip carrots if you want.
For plant based/vegan kheer, use any plant milk like almond or coconut.
