Sama Rice aur Gajar Ki Kheer
Sama Rice Kheer with nutritious carrots, nuts and raisin. Gluten-free, wholesome meal for fasting days.
- 1/4 Cup Sama Rice/ Barnyard Millet
- 4 Cups Whole Cream Milk
- 1/2 Cup Finely Grated Carrots
- 1-2 tbsp Finely Chopped Almonds
- 1 tbsp Raisins
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder/Elaichi Powder
- Sugar as required
Wash and soak Sama Rice in water for at least 30 minutes.Grate carrots finely.
In a heavy bottomed pan, keep milk to boil medium flame.
When the first boil comes, lower the flame, drain water from soaked sama rice, add to milk, along with grated carrots , nuts and raisins and mix.
Cook till rice starts to thicken add sugar, mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot or chilled.
