It was Friday evening when my kids suddenly announced that they want to have Pizza. It was already late evening and I had planned Paneer curry with Methi Parantha (Indian flatbread flavored with Fenugreek) for dinner. I told them that dinner is already planned and we can have Pizza the next day. I made some extra Paneer masala so that I can use it as topping on the Pizza. Paneer Pizza is a hit in my house and my kids love any kind of Paneer toppings. My hubby who is not a pizza fan doesn’t mind having it either. Paneer is such a versatile ingredient, you can make endless dishes with it each having different taste and flavor. There are so many popular Paneer toppings for Pizza…Paneer Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, spicy Chilli Paneer and even palak paneer topping. I have tried Palak Paneer topping with Alfredo sauce on Pizza and trust me it was worth giving a try.
I made this spicy Dhaba style Paneer Masala. Dhaba is a roadside restaurant in India. I had some pre-baked Pizza base in the freezer that I made last weekend when I made veggie pizza. With all ingredients ready to assemble dinner was ready within 10-15 minutes and we enjoyed the desi Pizza flavors along with some homemade garlic knots and lemonade. I made three Paneer Pizza, you can make as per your requirement. The linked Pizza dough recipe gives you 6-7 medium sized Pizza.
The ingredients and method for Spicy Paneer Pizza!!
Pizza Dough–Store-bought or Homemade—(Click on the link for detailed homemade Pizza Dough method).
Spicy Paneer Topping– 1 cup or as required (For detailed recipe click in the link.. Paneer Masala Dhaba Style)
Pizza Sauce(Store-bought or Homemade)– 1/2 cup or as required
Onions– 1/2 thinly sliced or as required
Green Capsicum– 1/2 thinly sliced or as required
Finely Chopped Coriander/Cilantro
Cheese of your choice-I used Combination of Mozzarella and Cheddar– as required
Knead the dough and bake Pizza base as per instructions in the basic pizza recipe.

For assembling Pizza:
Take a pre-baked pizza base, spread very little pizza sauce on it. Add the masala coated paneer with masala and spread it on top of sauce. Spread very little grated cheese on the sauce.
Over the cheese, spread Paneer Masala gravy and paneer pieces. Gravy should be thick, not watery.
Add few thinly sliced onions and capsicum.
Add some more cheese and chopped cilantro leaves and bake in a preheated oven at 500°F or 260°C for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese melts. Preheat the baking sheet so that the base gets nicely cooked.
Season it with Italian seasoning or sprinkle some chaat masala on it and enjoy the fresh homemade desi pizza.
