How to make Bael Shrabat/ Wood Apple Juice

I am sharing the age old recipe that is common in every household of North and North Eastern India. Bael fruit has hard shell and inside is the soft fibrous pulp. The outer hard covering is broken with a hammer or some hard object like rolling pin.

The fruit is very sweet so most of the times no sugar or sweetener is added. But you can add some raw sugar/jaggery as per your taste or as required.

Dilute the pulp and strain the mixture. Chill it for a couple of hours and then serve. We can add a pinch of cardamom powder or cumin powder or mint leaves to enhance the taste.

How long can we store Bael Sharbat

You can store (refrigerate) Golden Apple/Kaitha juice upto 5 days in an air-tight container preferably in a glass bottle/jar.
