How to choose Green Beans for the recipe
Fresh Tender beans without any spots are the best to use in the recipe. Many like to blanch green beans before stir frying/air frying but I like to use raw beans, and that's why tender beans work best here.
I never used canned beans here so can't suggest you to use i the recipe. And moreover, fresh beans are available all around the year, so why not make use of it and have fresh and healthy stuff!!
Ingredients to make Garlic Green Beans
Green Beans- As suggested in the above section use fresh and tender beans. Avoid beans with hard skin and seeds.
Garlic- It is the show stopper for the this recipe. The main flavouring agent, as we are not using any other spice expect salt here.
Others- Oil, Salt, Sesame seeds (optional).
You can use butter if there are no vegan/ dietary limitations, chilli flakes for the spicy kick.
How to make Stir Fry Garlic Green Beans
- Wash and wipe clean the beans.
- Trim the ends and if the bean is not tender, take of the string along side the beans.
- Finely chop garlic, don't mince garlic. I love bits of garlic while chewing on the beans.
- Heat oil in a skillet/pan, and add chopped garlic.
- Fry garlic for a few seconds and then add beans.
- Stir fry on high flame, till you see blisters on the beans. The blisters indicate the beans are done.
- Then add salt and sprinkle some sesame seeds.
- Serve hot or as and when required.
Stir frying beans retains the crunchy texture as the beans do not lose water when we stir fry on high flame. This take about 5 mins.
How to make Air Fryer Garlic Green Beans
- To make garlic green beans in Air fryer, trim the ends of the beans after washing nicely. Remember to wipe off the extra water from beans.
- In a bowl take beans add chopped garlic, oil, salt and sesame seeds.You can use tongs or mix everything simply with hands.
- Transfer the beans , spread in a single layer in the air fryer basket lined with basket liner or parchment paper.
- Air for 10-15 mins. or till they are done as per your likeness.
- Take out, squeeze some lemon and serve it hot.

Can I make Garlic Green beans ahead of dinner time
You can make green beans ahead of dinner time even a day or two ahead and refrigerate. Reheat in air fryer (2-3 mins at 160 C or 325F), pan/skillet (stir frying at high flame for 1-2 mins). You can also reheat green beans in microwave for 1 min High.

Serve green beans with your main meals or squeeze some lemon and pepper and enjoy it as a snack just like french fries!!
