Tzatziki is a Greek cucumber yogurt dip. It’s a healthy sauce you can serve with grilled veggies, pita chips, falafels, even with biryanis and as a dip with raw veggies like carrots and cucumbers. The process to make Tzatziki is simple and quick one, although the name sounds quite fancy!!
It is almost similar to Indian Cucumber Raita, it’s a little thick in consistency as it is made with hung curd or greek yogurt and has oil and garlic added to it, with chopped mint/cilantro/coriander. I have used dried mint leaves, you can use fresh ones.
Quickly let’s see the ingredients measure and the method to make it.
Ingredients:
Greek Yogurt or Hung Curd–1/2 cup
Grated Cucumbers–2 medium
Lemon (for fresh Juice)–1/2
Chopped fresh Mint Leaves/Dill/ Cilantro leaves—1 Tbsp
Extra Virgin Olive Oil–1 Tsp
Garlic–2-3 cloves
Black Pepper Powder–1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
Grate Cucumbers and add a pinch of salt and leave for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, squeeze water from cucumbers using a cheesecloth.
Mince garlic cloves.
In a bowl add yogurt, grated cucumbers, lemon juice, salt, oil and mix well until everything is well blended.
Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 1 hr before serving.

Serve it with falafels, naans, pita, vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs, grilled veggies, goes well with your favorite biryanis too!!
