This post into different sections like Puddings/Kheer, Ladoo and other Mithai items, chocolate desserts and fusion desserts. Also will be updating the collection as and when I make a new dish.
One of the most important ingredient to make Indian desserts is Khoya or evaporated milk solids, that is used in many recipes. You can buy from stores or make homemade. Preparing Khoya in traditional way takes lot of time, so I make a batch of homemade khoya. When pressed on time I prefer to use Almond Meal/Milk Powder/Milk Mawa(available in Indian grocery stores as a substitute for it. It also gives the authentic taste like the ones made with . Kheer and Puddings
Chawal Ki Kheer--One of the most popular and commonly made kheer recipe all over India. Chawal ki Kheer is rice pudding that is a favorite among the kids and grown ups alike.
Meethe Jave-- Vermicelli Pudding with nuts and raisins.
Apple Kheer.. A delicious milk based pudding with apples and nuts.
Mango or Aam ki Phir-- Aam ki Phirni or Mango Phirni flavorful and creamy mango rice pudding with sweet seasonal mangoes and soaked and ground rice.
Not the season of mangoes, make phirni without mango with kesar/saffron or elaichi/cardamom or use canned puree.
Badam Aur Gur ki Phirni.. Traditional Rice Phirni made with Jaggery and almonds.. a rich and delicious treat to enjoy on festivals
Moong Dal Kheer.. Moong Dal and Jaggery cooked in milk/coconut milk . We love to have it chilled topped with almonds and cashews.
Mini Rasgulla Kheer..Mini Rasgulla soaked in rabri, served chilled.
Basundi..Traditional Basundi recipe with mixed nuts, flavoured with cardamom and nutmeg.
Instant Almond Rabri.. Traditional way of cooking Rabri takes long standing time and monitoring. Make quick Rabri with almonds/almond meal
Fruit Custard..Everyone's favourite Fruit custard, eggless, gelatin-free and can be made ahead. Served chilled with fruits.
Halwa and Chrooma
Moong Dal Halwa.. one of the most popular winter treat in Northern India, made with Moong Lentils, desi ghee and loaded with nuts.
Sooji Ka Halwa.. Semolina pudding served with dry fruits and raisins.
Gajar Ka Halwa..Grated Carrots cooked in khoya, milk, nuts and topped with nuts, served warm.
Besan Ka Halwa..A gluten-free dessert with chickpea flour and nuts.
Choorma.. Rajasthani special Choorma, made with whole wheat wheat flour,lots of nuts and desi ghee.

Gujjiya.. Cripsy, flaky Indian pies filled with mawa(evaporated milk mixture and nuts). Known as Karanji in
Kesar Pista Burfi.. Homemade Kesar Pista Burfi without any condensed milk and khoya. Royal flavour the festive times.
Gulab Jamun.. Melt in mouth Gulab Jamun made with milk powder. Easy recipe for busy days.
Jalebi..Make crispy Instant Jalebi at home for the festivities.
Mawa Kachori..Sweetened Indian hand-pies filled with nuts and khoya, dipped in sugar syrup. These can be stored for a week.
